Zardozi is a traditional, heavy embroidery technique using metallic threads to create elaborate designs, historically on silk, satin, or velvet fabrics. The name comes from Persian words for "gold" and "sewing," and while it originally used real gold and silver, modern versions often use gold- and silver-plated copper threads.
