Victorian medallion - decoupage tutorial

Victorian style Christmas bauble decorated with decoupage and reliefs.

What we need:

- plastic bauble- acrylic paints

- relief paint/contour liner

- rice paper - decoupage glue

- liquid patina or brown paint and Blending gel

- varnish - like Glossy gel

- flat brush

First paint plastic bauble using white acrylic paint. For me sponge brush is the best tool for that task.

Now select image from rice paper

Apply some glue on bauble and place rice paper, apply more glue on top starting from centre to remove any air.

Draw decorative patterns on the edges of the baubles. Use a contour liner and follow lines. When the contour is dry, cover it with white acrylic paint. Varnish.

Once you bauble is dry, highlight decorative pattern using liquid patina or brown paint mixed whit blending gel. Use piece of sponge or cloth to remove any excess.

Finish your bauble with several layers of varnish. I used Glossy gel because it is dense and does not flow from the surface.
